The Oxford MIGMAKER 301 is a single-phase 300A step-regulated MIG welder from British manufacturer Oxford. Updated for 2023, the MIGMAKER 301 retains its robust British build quality while featuring a more electrically efficient transformer to meet the latest regulations. Reverse polarity is now standard, allowing for the use of gasless wire when needed.
As the largest transformer MIG welder in Oxford’s range, the MIGMAKER 301 can weld materials up to 10mm thick and also handles very thin materials with a minimum amperage of just 20A. It offers 16 voltage steps for precise output power adjustment and can even run from a 13A plug for lighter tasks.
This popular model is great for automotive work, gates and railings, and light to medium agricultural applications. It comes supplied with a 3m MIG torch and a single-stage 2-gauge argon regulator.
Built with a copper-wound transformer, rugged switch gear, an over-rated rectifier, and fan cooling, the Oxford MIGMAKER is housed in a durable 2mm steel chassis. Transformer-based machines are known for their long lifespan and reliability. The MIGMAKER range is Oxford’s most popular model, featuring a high torque cast aluminum wire drive system with a 70W drive motor for consistent wire feeding.
Oxford takes pride in handcrafting each machine with the best components sourced in the UK whenever possible. Updated in 2023, the MIGMAKER 301 complies with BS IEC60974-6 for greater energy efficiency. The transformers are now extremely energy-efficient, drawing just 25 watts on standby.

There has never been a better time to buy British! With the weak British £, Oxford machines are more competitive than any similar quality imported machine. With Oxford’s long-term support, buying British is the wise choice. More output power from a 230V supply, lower input power, better duty cycles, better long-term support, better pricing – all made right here in the UK!
Rugged, reliable, compact MIG machines with simple, no-nonsense controls. Great welding performance, simple build, and easy maintenance – everything you want from a machine designed to weld and nothing you don’t. Thousands sold over the last few years!
